ABOUT M2N

More than just a tour.

It Started in Hiroshima...

M2N Tours began in Hiroshima, a city where understanding the past is an essential part of understanding the place itself.

What started with guided tours exploring Hiroshima and its history developed into a broader idea: a meaningful tour should go beyond showing visitors where to look. It should provide context, connect stories with places, and create space for questions and conversation.

That approach continues to shape M2N today. From Hiroshima, we have expanded to new destinations and new stories, while keeping the same curiosity and commitment to meaningful experiences at the heart of every of our tours.

Our Foundation

WALK

FOR PEACE.

Walk for Peace reflects where M2N began and the responsibility that comes with sharing Hiroshima's history.

The paper crane has become a symbol closely associated with Hiroshima and its message of peace. Inspired by this meaning, the origami crane became part of M2N's identity, representing resilience, hope and the idea that even small actions can carry meaning. Our logo connects us to where our journey began and serves as a visual reminder of the values behind Walk for Peace.

For us, guiding in Hiroshima is about more than explaining historical events and visiting important sites. It means preserving context, encouraging reflection, and helping visitors understand how the city's past continues to shape its identity today.

As M2N grows beyond Hiroshima, Walk for Peace remains at the heart of who we are, a reminder of where our journey started and of the value of approaching every place with curiosity, respect and an openness to understand.

HOW AN

M2N TOUR

COMES TO LIFE

01 | Research

UNDERSTAND THE STORY.

It always starts with knowledge.

Before creating a route, we research the destination, its history, culture and individual sites, compare stops and identify the stories and connections that are worth exploring further.

02 | Travel

EXPERIENCE THE PLACE.

Research takes us so far.

We explore the destination, visit potential stops and experience the area beyond what theory can tell us. Sometimes the places that looked perfect on paper don't make the final cut, while others unexpectedly do.

03 | Tour Design

CREATE MEMORIES.

It is time to tie everything together.

We develop a route that works both practically and narratively, select the final stops and turn our research into structured tour content. The goal isn't to fit in as many stops as possible, but to create a route that connects the  place to truly understand it.

04 | Training

BRING THE STORY TO LIFE.

A tour is only as good as the guide.

Before our tour goes live, our guides familiarize themselves with the route and content, join shadow tours and receive training. This is also where we refine explanations, discuss questions and make sure every guide has the foundation to make the tour their own.

05 | Going Live

READY TO WALK.

Finally, we are ready to welcome you!

But going live doesn't mean the work stops. We continue learning from our guides, our guests and new research to keep improving our tours over time. And with that, our tours keep growing as M2N does, as well.

MEET OUR

GUIDES

A great tour depends on more than a well-planned route. Our guides are the people who turn research into understanding, connect stories with the places around you, and make every experience personal.

We work with guides who bring their own knowledge, perspectives and personalities to each tour, because we believe the best experiences don't feel like a lecture, but like exploring a place together.

About us

M2N Tours originated from and is based in Hiroshima.

As a city shaped by history, memory and ongoing reflection, Hiroshima is not only a destination, but a place that requires context to be fully understood. This understanding is at the core of what we do.

Our tours are built around the idea that meaningful travel goes beyond  seeing places.  It requires knowledge, historical awareness and the ability to connect events, perspectives and present-day realities.

Walk for Peace

Our slogan, “Walk for Peace,” reflects both the setting in which we operate and the way we approach our work.

In Hiroshima, walking through the city means engaging with its past events, its transformation and its ongoing role as a symbol of peace. We see guiding not only as sharing information, but as creating space for reflection, understanding and dialogue.

“Walk for Peace” is therefore not just a phrase, but an approach, to guide responsibly, to present history with care and to contribute, in a small but meaningful way, to a deeper understanding of the place and its hidden messages.

Our Approach

We place strong value on historical and cultural accuracy.

Our guides come from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including history, anthropology and peace studies. Many have lived in Japan for years and bring both expertise and local perspective to their work.

Rather than relying on memorized scripts, our tours are carefully structured to provide clear explanations, thoughtful context and space for questions and discussion. We aim to make complex topics understandable without oversimplifying them.

Our goal is simple: to provide tours that are informative, accurate and meaningful.
